My husband and I were fortunate to have you as our Intrepid leader in 2005. I know it must be challenging to have so many people visit you from so many different countries and cultures, and you may wonder if anyone really hears what you say. I just wanted to tell you what an excellent guide and teacher we thought you were. You gave us a real taste of the history and culture of Cambodia through the stories of your life experiences. In Ankor Wat, your telling of the Ramayana story which was carved on the walls was thrilling, so much so that I read the book when I returned home (for English speakers, I recommend the excellent version retold by William Buck). Reading the Ramayana lead me to read the Mahabarata and the Bhagavad Gita, all of which have affected my life greatly.
I want to thank you for having a significant influence on my life. You are a blessing.
I am very happy to see you with your own company, and I wish you much luck with your future!
Sincerely,
Laura Cioppa, traveler

Dear kimly we are writing to you to give testimonial to your excellent services whilst on holiday in cambodia. leah and i had already spent one week in vietnam, with different drivers and guides and one thing we found that most did not have very good english. on arrival in cambodia it was refreshing to see that your knowledge of english was very good. also your knowledge of cambodian history and religion, temples and tourist sights was excellent. nothing proved too much for you to do, even helping leah with her photographs and developing and printing. you were flexible to accomoadate our wishes, helped us with buying souveniers, and recommended places to see and to eat at. we feel that anyone requiring an experienced and knowledgable tour guide for their stay in cambodia could do no better than to chose you. you also have a good sense of humuor and an understanding of the english culture which makes it more pleasant for the tourist. we wish you well in any endeavour you wish to take on and know that any traveller in your beautiful country will be well looked after by you. wishing you happiness and success marina and leah kirby. |

My husband and I were fortunate to have had Kimly Som as our tour leader in 2005. He was everything we could have hoped for: warm, articulate, competent and generous. Kimly, through the use of his story-telling skills, transmitted the history and culture of Cambodia, as well as giving us insight into life in Cambodia today. We also enjoyed hearing about his experiences as an herbalist and healer, and he answered many, many questions for us. Kimly opened a new awareness in my life as he pointed out the symbolism of numbers and of the cardinal directions in the layouts of the temple ruins. He brought the epic tale of the Ramayana to life as he explained the significance of the stories carved into the walls of Angkor Wat. There was not a single problem on the entire trip, and I attribute this to Kimly's expertise and organization. I am pleased to see that he now has his own tour company!
Sincerely,
Laura Cioppa
